At Ansell - the makers of LifeStyles condoms - our goal is to manufacture the best condoms in the world. We start with strict specifications for raw latex.
Harvesting of latex raw material
Each batch of latex is harvested, inspected and run through a gauntlet of quality control tests before transportation to one of our processing facilities. Once the raw materials are delivered to our plants, the compounding process begins. This carefully monitored operation mixes the perfect balance of materials that make up our tightly controlled condom formulations. The mixed liquid compound is then used to manufacture condoms.
Dipping
LifeStyles condoms are produced in state-of-the-art facilities around the globe and undergo different quality tests at every point of our manufacturing process to ensure our condoms meet worldwide requirements. The machine you see takes the condom form and dips it in the latex as it proceeds down the assembly line. In a single day, millions of LifeStyles condoms are manufactured for distribution across the globe.
Water test![]()
To test for holes, for example, our condoms undergo a strenuous water test. It's here where we fill the condoms until it holds 300ml of water to see if holes are present.
This ensures that our condoms provide effective barrier protection.
Air inflation
To determine the condom's strength, LifeStyles condoms undergo an Air Inflation Test as well. We inflate samples with air until they're blown up to 91.44cm high and 30.48cm wide. More samples are tested for tensile strength and elongation.
Electronic test![]()
But the tests do not stop here! Our patented Automatic Electronic Testing process checks each condom for possible microscopic holes one more time before they are packaged, for an additional measure of quality assurance.
All this testing assures you the highest quality product, guaranteeing the type of reliability you can count on! LifeStyles condoms are adhering to today's most stringent international manufacturing and environmental standards: ISO 4074: 2002, EN 600, RTQ-009-95, ASTM D3492-02, WHO'98 and other different national standards.
